Improvements to Right-of-Way Pro

“RowCAD” has changed name to “ROWCAD (Right-of-Way)” as it is now, for all practical purposes, a complete and standalone interface for the ROW engine. While this engine will continue to perform the core computations behind the scenes, the classic ROW interface will be moved to the Legacy subfolder of the software distribution, where it will remain available. The latest developments add the following notable enhancements to the software:

  • A new Modify Circuit operation was created, which allows the easier creation of zero-impedance lines.
  • A graphical review of interpolated fault current contributions was made possible in the Monitor Fault module.
  • Profiles from user-defined entities were made to automatically transfer to the Total Interference MALZ template file.
  • The Total Interference advanced features of ROW have been duplicated in ROWCAD.
  • Automated corrections to the coating impedances were extended to the multi-region soil methodology.
  • The Plots and Reports module was revamped to fully integrate it into ROWCAD.
  • The interpolation for the calculation of arcing distances in the intermediate range of soil resistivities—where Sunde’s equations do not apply—was improved to yield a smoother and more realistic transition between arcing distance formulas at the ends of that interval.

To reflect the fusion of ROWCAD and ROW, their respective Quick Start Guides have been merged into a single document and renamed to User’s Guide.
